Mauricio Navarro was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico. Navarro came to Los Angeles California in 1986.
He is a self-taught artist, grew up in Mexico City inspired by the colors and energy of the diverse metropolis. Now, his paintings, both representational and abstract, express both the city and the quiet moments in nature. At a early ege Navarro had a very large exposure to museums and galleries looking at the works of Mexican artists of the 20th century, Rivera, Tamayo, Siqueiros, Orozco, Posada and many more. Now, Navarro strives to find unique ways to communicate his ideas and create a new way of self expression.
Statement :
From all the arts that exist he has chosen Painting and Sculpting. These two mediums are the ones that really bring the most joy when he is expressing himself, manipulating and transforming the raw materials into something completely new. He loves the process from start to finish.
